Loan Calculator

Today while browsing the web we came across an interesting mortgage and loan calculator from mlcalc.com. The user interface is very simple and intuitive. The color scheme for the amortization graphs and display of information is very pleasing to the eye and easy to scan.
A mortgage calculator can be overwhelming to newbies because of their unfamiliarity to new terms and varied methods of calculations. Mlcalc.com has done a good job of listing various terms and their definitions right beside the calculator for easy reference. There are also a couple of links to wikipedia for detailed information about mortgage calculations.
MLCalc’s mortgage calculator is simple to use. Once we fill in the data for our purchase price, down payment, mortgage term, interest rate, property tax, property insurance, PMI, first date of payment, and amortization (year or month) we get a detailed graph showing us our monthly payments, total no. of payments, total amount to be paid with interest, pay off date and rows of data for annual payments on interest, principal, tax, insurance & PMI, and the remaining balance. You can see a picture above shot to help you get a feel of the visual presentation.
Mlcalc.com’s loan calculator is as useful as their mortgage calculator. Being visual persons we really love their graphical representation of data in varied correlated colors. Also, if you have a blog (hosted on the wordpress platform), mlcalc has created a plugin for easy display and use of their mortgage and loan calculators. For others, a handy piece of javascript can add this functionality to our websites or blogs. We really liked this neat widget. Check it out and play with the numbers to get a feel of this cool tool.
